WHITE PASS SKI & SNOWBOARD CLUB
White Pass Ski & Snowboard Club offers alpine racing, freestyle, snowboard, and Nordic programs for youth ages 6 - 18. Our goal is to provide students with a lifetime of skills that will serve them well both on and off the race course. Our exceptional coaching staff creates an environment of success for skiers and riders of every level.
Getting Started - SKI
Saturday Intro Program (ages 6-10)
Take your child’s interest in skiing to the next level with the Intro Program! The program runs from late December through mid-March – mostly Saturdays, with a few Sundays during event weekends. The framework is geared towards Intermediate-level skiers who are ready to develop their confidence and tackle the whole mountain while having lots of FUN along the way. The focus is on building strong fundamentals and lasting friendships – with exposure to a variety of skiing disciplines from ski racing to all mountain and free-ski. A dedicated coaching staff will work with your child throughout the season to help advance their progression. The group has the opportunity to compete in the Bantam Cup (typically mid-March). Athletes must be able to ride the chair without assistance.

U10 Buddy Werner Alpine Team - Ages 6-9
This program is focused on ski improvement through directed free skiing, gate training, and competition. The program begins December 16th and consists of weekend training and 4-5 races in the Western PNSA zone.

U12 Buddy Werner Alpine Team - Ages 10-11
This program is focused on ski improvement through directed free skiing, gate training, and competition. The program begins December 16th and consists of weekend training and 4-5 races in the Western PNSA zone. Buddies meet at 8:30 am above the blockhouse and ski until 3 pm with a 1-hour lunch break at 11:30.

U14 Alpine Team - Ages 12-13
This program is focused on skill development through directed free skiing, gate training, and competition and will be treated as its own training group. The U14 age class will compete in a divisional series consisting of three qualifying races from which athletes are selected to the U14 Western Region Championships. In addition to the qualifying races there will be scheduled 2 additional evergreen cup races for a total of 5 races per season.

U16 - U21 Alpine Team - Ages 14-20
Advanced skiers ages 14-years and above participate in a full weekend schedule of training and races. This group attends a series of races uniquely selected to meet their individual goals in ski racing. Typically, these members have come up through the lower levels, but any youth skiing at the higher level may participate. The junior race program begins as soon as the area opens and continues through the competition season. Juniors train from 8:30 to 3:00-3:30
Training begins on Saturday, December 16th.

Nordic Team
The White Pass Nordic Team is for the 6 – 18-year-old aspiring cross-country athletes looking to develop their skills and push their skiing to the next level. Returning athletes 8:45-11:30 a.m. New athletes 12:30-3:00 p.m. The team travels to approximately 1-2 events per year (travel is optional). The focus will be primarily on classic cross-country skiing, with exposure to skate skiing as well. We will cover all aspects of the sport, from skiing and racing techniques to ski waxing and equipment prep.

Freeride Team
The Freeride Program is aimed at the advanced skier that is already experimenting with steeps, bumps, jumps, terrain parks, all mountain and all snow conditions skiing. Team members may compete in approximately four to five home area and regional competitions per season. The program begins early December and runs every Saturday and Sunday through mid-March. Team members train from 8:45-3:00. All Team members and coaches meet at 8:45 am slopeside (just behind day lodge) on all program dates. Our head coach is Gunnar Stoltenow.

Snowboard Club
Snowboard Club members enjoy pushing their current limitations and strengthening their skills in all types of terrain and snow conditions. Members experience the challenges of the terrain park, steeps, and free riding in all snow conditions while building a strong foundation. Club members may compete in both home area events as well as regional events. Training begins early December and runs through mid-March, Saturdays and Sundays 8:45-3:00. Questions? White Pass sets a maximum capacity for day tickets. Please purchase your ticket online, in advance to guarantee your spot on the chairlift! Weekends and holidays typically sell out so please plan ahead.
