At White Pass, the people making decisions about the mountain aren’t sitting in a corporate office in another state. They live here. They ski here. Their kids learned to make turns here. They understand that White Pass is more than a ski area—it’s part of the fabric of our community.

Since opening in 1953, generations of families have made White Pass part of their lives. Kids who made their first turns in Kids' Clinic have grown up to bring their own children—and now, in some cases, their grandchildren to our hill. Employees become lifelong friends, coaches watch young athletes grow into confident adults, and a powder day can feel like a family reunion.

Local ownership means making decisions with the long-term health of the mountain and our community in mind. It means supporting local schools, clubs, nonprofits and events. It means creating jobs throughout the Yakima Valley to the east and the US 12 corridor to the west. It also means helping more kids and families discover a lifelong love of the mountains which inspires all of us to be good stewards of a very special place.

Our goal isn’t simply to grow—it’s to grow thoughtfully while protecting the character that makes White Pass feel like White Pass. You’ll see that philosophy in the investments we’re making in lifts, facilities, beginner terrain and programs designed to make the mountain more welcoming and accessible.

But some things we hope never change.

We want White Pass to remain the kind of place where someone remembers your name. Where kids grow up on the mountain. Where longtime passholders share a chairlift with first-time visitors and both feel like they belong.
